Mr. R Gopalakrishnan, noted thought leader, author of several books and a senior corporate leader who led businesses at Hindustan Unilever Limited and later served on the board of Tata Sons, has joined SPJIMR as Executive in Residence.

The appointment was announced by SPJIMR, a top ranked school of management in India, which said Mr.Gopalakrishnan would spend four days a month on the SPJIMR campus to work on applied research projects which will showcase best practices and trends in Indian management thought and practice.

The S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) based in India and the Waikato Management School in New Zealand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will enable the two institutions jointly explore and build on opportunities for exchange of faculty and students and to undertake joint teaching and research.

The S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), a leading school of management, has launched a capacity building programme for community caregivers and NGOs working to support cancer patients and their families.

The one year ‘Organisational Development Programme’ is conceived, developed and delivered by SPJIMR’s Centre for Education in the Social Sector and is supported by Novartis India. The one-of-its-kind programme will cover four modules to be conducted over two days each in the month of May, August, November 2016 and January 2017.

SPJIMR has launched a series of outreach initiatives for candidates who have been admitted to the Institute’s prestigious two-year full time MBA-equivalent Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). As part of these initiatives, SPJIMR held networking meets across four cities earlier this month to enable the PGDM Class of 2018 have an early immersion into the culture, values and spirit of SPJIMR.

The incoming batch comprises a diverse group of about 240 candidates who topped the SPJIMR merit list after a rigorous selection process that included two rounds of interviews.The Class of 2018 is scheduled to be inaugurated with an orientation at the SPJIMR campus auditorium on Tuesday, June 07, 2016.

The S P Jain Institute of Management & Research now has a Trade Lab with state of the art software packages, hardware switches and attendant infrastructure that enables students to execute mock trades on global exchanges and gain new insights and expertise in understanding and trading in financial markets.

S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has launched the admission process for its two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) (www.spjimr.org/pgdm) for 2015-2017 with effect from 17 September 2014. The application window will remain open from 17 September 2014 to 30 November 2014.

Dr. M L Shrikant has stepped down as the Honorary Dean of the S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) after 28 years of visionary leadership that saw the Institute reach new heights and stand out as a leader in management education in India.

Shri Murli S. Deora, who passed away this morning (November 24, 2014), was a Trustee and Vice-President of Bhavan for nearly a decade. Shri Murli Deora has been associated with Bhavan from his student days. He was a student of Bhavan’s College in Mumbai and came into contact with Kulapati Munshiji as a student leader. Since then, Shri Murli Deora had been one of the most dynamic members of the Bhavan’s Family. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Bhavan’s Gandhi Institute of Computer Technology in the development of which his contribution had been most vital. It was Shri Murli Deora who introduced the American philanthropist Shri Bill Gates to Bhavan and was instrumental in the Gandhi Institute receiving a large donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He had also brought donations for the Gandhi Institute from the several Institutes in India. Whenever a need arose, Shri Murli Deora has always devoted his time, energy and experience for the work of furthering the ideals and values of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Nobel laureate Mr. Kailash Satyarthi on Saturday led a packed auditorium at the S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) to call out, “I am a hero”, during a 45 minute inspiring address that saw him highlight the burning problem of child abuse and the linkages to growth and sustainability.

The S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) on Wednesday (Dec.3,2014) said it has begun processing applications for the two year PGDM programme (2015-17) and would soon announce the first list of candidates called for interviews.
