With over 40 percent of the new batch made up of women, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) welcomed a truly diverse batch this year for its largest programme, the two-year full-time MBA-equivalent Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).  Also, almost a third of the batch is made up of non-engineers.

Hastantaran 2019

SPJIMR’s Abhyudaya celebrated the 11th year of its flagship event, Hastantaran on 30th June 2019. It aims to foster social responsibility in its B-school students with its year-long mentorship programme in which the first year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) participants mentor bright, underprivileged children called ‘Sitaras’.

Learning By Doing Summit 2019

SPJIMR co-hosted an International Summit on ‘Learning by Doing’ with the Global Business School Network (GBSN), to develop and apply the principles of assurance of learning to project-based experiential learning courses.

The summit offered content sessions, panel discussions and hands-on guided workshop activities led by faculty from The George Washington University School of Business; MIT Sloan School of Management, USA;Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, USA and SPJIMR among many more.

Design Thinking for Innovation at SBAC 2019

The SPJIMR Business-Academia Conclave (SBAC) brings together corporate and academic leaders to drive new and implementable best practices in the business world. The theme for SBAC 2019 was ‘Design thinking for Innovation’ - a fast-growing approach to problem-solving under ambiguity that is rapidly being adopted in India. Corporate leaders and academic leaders came together to understand and assimilate current best practice in this area and identify exciting new directions for India Inc.

DoCC Completes 25 Years

SPJIMR’s Development of Corporate Citizenship (DoCC), completed 25 years of social impact in India this year. Under DoCC, management students are exposed to an immersion programme in the rural areas and complete their internship of social projects for 4 weeks and 2 weeks respectively with NGOs, corporate foundations and government agencies across the country.

Days after a new budget can confuse the best of us, the students of PGPM 2019 had the opportunity to understand the nuances of the latest budget, with Dr. M. Govinda Rao, who has been a member of the Finance Commission in the past shedding light on the budget as a whole and giving it an unbiased view.
