Candidates willingto join the academia and / or the research positions in the industry are encouraged to apply.
It’s not necessary. As a part of the course work you would be going through various courses that are required for acquiring the intended breadth and depth in your area. The FPM is a highly rigorous programme offered by SPJIMR. Since you would be responsible for pushing the boundaries of human knowledge though your work, it is necessary to have the right content and process during your training. FPM office is always there with you. However, candidates who fail to match the requirements consistently, may be asked to discontinue.

The FPM at SPJIMR is a fully-funded doctoral programme. The tuition fee is waived off and the scholars are paid monthly stipend to cover their basic expenses. Also, grants are available for purchasing hardware, software, attending conferences etc. For more on financing, please refer the Fees and Finance section.
In order to impart high-quality teaching skills along with the research skills, scholars are required to go through a teaching assistantship in their area for a limited time during their course. Actual teaching sessions might be involved during the same.
